Halfway Island
Halfway Island
★★
Depth 5.5 metres
Halfway Island lies halfway between Humpy Island and Great Keppel Island.
On the western side, a shallow reef flat runs out to a series of reef slopes that are comprised of a thick bed of Acropora coral.
On the eastern side there’s a deep drop-off which is protected from fishing. The eastern side is rarely accessible because of the prevailing winds but if you are a scuba diver it is worth a visit when there is a light breeze off the land.
